How To Become Immortal

We need to be reborn if we are going to become immortal. It is the Holy Spirit Who gives life, the flesh is worthless (see John 6:63)


That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit .  (John 3:6)

Once we are reborn, born of the Holy Spirit, we become immortal. Immortality has been planted within our mortal bodies. The world keeps looking for that which Christ has been bringing to the world for 2000 years!

They are looking to create their own artificial intelligence (god) and to make themselves immortal through transhumanism. They want to become gods. I believe we Christians already have that.  I see death as being just another stage of my new life in Christ. It is like going through spiritual puberty. We should not be afraid of death then.

This Social Darwinist world would like us to believe that this mortal life is all there is for us. They use words like "save lives" when in reality they are not able to save any lives.

For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:  “Death is swallowed up in victory.^"  ~1 Corinthians 15:53-54 NLT

Pentecostals - Apostolic- The Azusa Street Revival

Los Angeles was ripe for revival in the spring of 1906! Christians throughout the city were praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The previous summer, a Holiness group hungered for a revival during their camp meeting. One of the speakers warned if they didn't "dig in" God was going to pass them by and "raise up a people who would."

F. B. Meyer, the English "Keswick" preacher had ministered in Los Angeles in 1905. He spoke to large crowds about revival. Meyer had just visited the revival in Wales and spoke warmly of the outpouring.

Frank Bartleman, a Holiness evangelist was literally filling the city with gospel literature. Bartleman, excited about the revival in Wales, was distributing a tract by G. Campbell Morgan and The Great Revival in Wales by S. B. Shaw. (Shaw's book is available on our ministry web site. Click the title.) Bartleman had also written Evan Roberts to get instructions on how to experience a move of God in Los Angeles. Roberts wrote back, "Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God's promises. Hold daily meetings. May God bless you is my earnest prayer."

Joseph Smale, pastor of First Baptist Church was not content to read about the Welsh revival, he traveled to Wales and met Evan Roberts. On his return, he started daily prayer meetings at First Baptist. For fifteen weeks, they conducted revival services under the theme "Pentecost has not yet come, but it is coming." Unfortunately, pressure from the official board led to the end of the meeting and the resignation of Smale. It did not put an end to the hunger.

Many others were crying out to God for revival, including Julia Hutchins, a black preacher. Hutchins had been a member of Los Angeles' Second Baptist Church. Because she was teaching sanctification as a second work of grace, the Baptist church dismissed her and eight other families. This little group met in various locations including a tent. Despite the hardships the fledgling congregation endured, they did not lose their hunger for revival. Several from the group met regularly for prayer and worship at the home of Richard and Ruth Asbery at 214 Bonnie Brae Street.

These faithful saints were asking God to send an evangelist to spark the flame in their church. When Neely Terry, one of the members visited Houston, Texas, she felt she met the "Man of God" they needed in Los Angeles. Corrupt Blasphemy Laws In Moslem Countries

What are Pakistan's blasphemy laws? Blasphemy laws are used by mostly Islamic States to hold the people captive to Islamic Sharia law and to suppress free speech. An Islamic state, Afghanistan prohibits blasphemy as an offense under Sharia. Blasphemy can be punished by retaliatory penalties up to and including execution by hanging. There is evidence to show that torn or burned pages of the Quran have been planted by Moslems in order prosecute, kill and even burn alive people who belong to other religions.

When Punjab Governor Salman Taseer - a prominent critic of the law - was assassinated by his bodyguard in 2011, Pakistan was divided, with some hailing his killer as a hero.

Amending the blasphemy laws has been on the agenda of nearly all the popular secular parties. But none of them has made much progress - principally because of the sensitivities over the issue, but also because no major party wants to antagonise the religious parties.

A month after Salman Taseer was killed, Religious Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti, a Christian who spoke out against the laws, was shot dead in Islamabad, underlining the threat faced by critics of the law.

In 2010, a member of the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Sherry Rehman, introduced a private bill to amend the blasphemy law. Her bill sought to change procedures of religious offences so that they would be reported to a higher police official and the cases heard directly by the higher courts.

The bill was passed on to a parliamentary committee for vetting. It was withdrawn in February 2011 under pressure from religious forces as well as some opposition political groups.

Those of us who have been born of the Holy Spirit through faith in the shed blood of Christ are like babies. We need to learn to walk in the Spirit, but to often we fall down and hurt ourselves. It is hard to develop a strong faith when we have not yet learned to even walk in the Spirit (Light). If you are having problems with your learning to walk, try to retain your faith when it seems all hope is gone, when it seems you are to weak to ever learn. Faith is needed most when it is to dark to see the way.
